LAMINATING, VENEERING & BOOK-BINDING
These are incidental but useful functions of the BEEVERS PRESS particularly in environments where several different printmaking media and/or arts and crafts are practiced. The pressure ‘hold’ facility allows the pressure to be maintained indefinitely.
An example of laminating is in preparing a lino as the best results are obtained when it is laminated to a wood support block such as a 12mm MDF board. An example is shown opposite.
Book-binding is just one of many different work-holding jobs that can be performed. By removing the packing boards from the press a work height (gap) of up to 100mm is made available to accommodate books for binding. Stacks can be arranged front and back for balance as shown by the illustration on the left.
